Why? (project background)
With this project we wanted to equip group of young people with competencies to develop local and/or international projects that promote peace, inter-cultural and inter-religious dialog and are against violence, discrimination and hate speech. Main theme of the project is importance of active role of the youth as peace builders and initiators for reconciliation in their very own communities.

Objectives, results, outcomes etc.…
Main learning objectives of the project was for young people to gain needed skills and competencies to develop local and/or international activities and projects that promote peace, intercultural dialog and are against violence and hate speech. The learning elements consider sharing experience, good practice and expertise between young leaders on European level. One of the goals was to increase their social skills and personal development and initiate process for active participation in society. The have learned how to direct their efforts towards more effective activities for the benefit of local and wider communities, improved methods and practices to actively involve themselves and their peers in peace-building activities. This training course provided young leaders and youth workers with tools for building the stable community, efficient international cooperation, fight with hate speech and discrimination and systematic conflict resolution.
According to proposed objective, this training course is raising awareness of active citizenship on local, regional, national or European level, fosters mutual understanding of certain topics among youth from different cultures, promotes intercultural learning and non-formal education, contributes to personal development of participants and improves quality of civil society projects and initiatives.
After this training we expect participants to be inspired to create new, innovative and effective activities towards peace-building and intercultural learning on local, national, European and international level.
